Me and Jenny

Jenny is a really good friend of mine in Korea.

She is always there for me and has helped me in so many ways. She is really smart, and is fluent in both Korean and English. My transition to living in Korea has been made so much easier and fun because of her. She has helped me learn Korean, learn about the subtleties of Korean culture, and has done all this with great patience.

Jenny even went to meet my birthfather with me. She not only arranged transportation to his town, but also bought a nice gift for my father. This was the second time I had met my father since I had left Korea when I was 5 years old. She made this experience more special, and made me feel much more comfortable during this visit than my last. In addition, because she is such a great translator, I was able to get so much more information about my family and my childhood.

Thank you Jenny!

Here’s a picture of Jenny walking away from me again because she got annoyed. This happens several times a day…..

About Kimchi Soup

Kimchi Soup is a blog journal managed by a Korean-American-Jewish adoptee (this is not a joke). Its sole purpose is to document the adventures of the author's return to Korea and to update his family and friends.

The author of this blog journal was adopted form Korea at the age of 6. He was adopted and raised by a Jewish-American family (not a joke). The purpose of his extended return trip to Korea is to learn more about his birth-family history, learn the Korean language, and immerse himself in daily Korean life to fully experience true Korean culture.
