In: China| Visit Shanghai
30 Jun 2009Here’s a good one. Glad to have visited Shanghai, but also glad to be back in Seoul.

Tainted milk and collapsed buildings. Just another day in Shanghai.
Entire 13-story building tips over intact – kills one person, a couple days ago in Shanghai, China. Hard to believe this same city has built some of the tallest, most advanced skyscrapers, and is host of the 2010 World Expo.
Discovered in current investigation – plot of land was sold for 1/3 the cost of similar parcels in 2003. Cause of collapse suspected to be substandard foundation materials and excavation underneath the building for a garage. How did the developers receive permits? Corruption and corner-cutting is rampant in construction in Shanghai.
Kimchi Soup is a blog journal managed by a Korean-American-Jewish adoptee (this is not a joke). Its sole purpose is to document the adventures of the author's return to Korea and to update his family and friends.
The author of this blog journal was adopted form Korea at the age of 6. He was adopted and raised by a Jewish-American family (not a joke). The purpose of his extended return trip to Korea is to learn more about his birth-family history, learn the Korean language, and immerse himself in daily Korean life to fully experience true Korean culture.
