Wanna find out how the USD is faring against the Korean won instantly? Here’s a great little iPhone application called Currency Exchange Rates. It’s actually an app you have to pay for, but definately worth it if you’re a traveler, a forex trader, or just interested in world currencies. Very easy to use. Just tap on a currency to change the base currency. You can even turn off the automatic updating feature (that gets the latest exchange rates), so that you don’t incur roaming charges in a foreign country.

In my recent travels, there’s been countless times when I could’ve taken advantage of this slick little tool.  Lots of news surrounding the debut of the iPhone in Korea. I know there’s been talk about it for the past 3 years, but now it seems like we may finally be seeing the iconic phone in Korea in the next month or two. I’ll follow up with updates as I get them on Kimchi Soup.

About Kimchi Soup

Kimchi Soup is a blog journal managed by a Korean-American-Jewish adoptee (this is not a joke). Its sole purpose is to document the adventures of the author's return to Korea and to update his family and friends.

The author of this blog journal was adopted form Korea at the age of 6. He was adopted and raised by a Jewish-American family (not a joke). The purpose of his extended return trip to Korea is to learn more about his birth-family history, learn the Korean language, and immerse himself in daily Korean life to fully experience true Korean culture.
